 Le Petite Château.

The house is part of an impressive old Chateau and is one of two properties each side of the chateau. It has been refurbished to bring the house up to date with a modern comfortable feel in the house but still keeping the character of the building with the vaulted ceilings to the downstairs being preserved. The original windows front door and shutters retained.

One of the most interesting features being the wooden spiral staircase leading off the landing area upstairs going up through a turret then out onto a sunny roof terrace where there is room for soaking the sun up if you want a relaxing day by the house and then enjoying a rooftop meal at night. The house is just a short walk away from the shops  and a bar and  two restaurants.

A lovely house which was very clean and well presented and stocked with everything we needed.

Firstly we would like to thank Andy and Chris for the help and information given to us beforehand which proved invaluable. We were extremely impressed with the house and the outside space to the extent that most evenings were spent barbecuing and drinking the excellent wine from the wine cave down the road. The roof terrace was perfect for sunbathing during the day. A most enjoyable holiday in a picturesque and tranquil village with friendly locals. The city of Carcassonne, the nearby canal du midi and the beaches of Languedoc and Russillon, particularly Le Franqui, were all well worth the visits. Overall a tastefully furnished property in a great location………… More Reviews

Capendu sits quietly in the south west of France, where the provinces of Languedoc and Roussillon border the Mediterranean Sea from the mouth of the Rhone river. Capendu borders Provence in the east, and Spain and the Pyrenees foothills in the west.

Towns and villages steeped with history, grand sunny beaches and a large choice of outdoor activities make this a wonderful area for your family vacation.

Spanish influence are found throughout the region merging the old and the modern. This can be experienced and found in the medieval fortified Cité of Carcassonne to the vibrant  city of Montpellie.
